skin care obsession

Hi friends!

Hooray for the weekend! My personal opinion is that weekends are exclusively reserved for self-care. Whether that’s brunching, lounging, running (okay, let’s get real…walking) in the park…whatever you deem as self-care, take the weekend and do just that. For me, there is no greater sense of self-care than skin care and i have to share a brand that I am newly obsessed with.

Yesterday on my IG story, I posted about a couple of Drunk Elephant products I was finally trying out. I’ve been seeing Drunk Elephant consistently on social media, and wanted to know what everyone’s been raving about. This cold weather has been doing a number on my skin, and my skin has definitely been in need of some good, ole TLC. I also researched their brand and found that they “are committed to using only ingredients that either directly benefit the skin’s health or support the integrity and effectiveness of our formulations.” So with the nudge of my good friend Kim who raved about their TLC Sukari Babyfacial, I took the plunge.

I LOVE this thing. It’s a thin facial mask that essentially regenerates your skin. You apply a thin layer - you really only need a pump and a half - and leave it on for twenty minutes. The first 5-10 minutes it slightly tingles, but then the feeling goes away. Once you rinse it off, you can see a noticeable difference - your skin looks brighter, clearer and more luminous. Oh, and your skin looks and feels sooooo smooth…just like a baby bottom! It’s a little on the pricey side, however you only need to use it once a week, and like I said, you really only need a pump or so, so it should last fairly long.

I followed it up with the B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel, and it had a cooling, moisturizing effect. Maybe it’s just me, but it felt like I cleansed my skin and reinvigorated it with this next step. Although it says ‘gel,’ it’s very lightweight and isn’t greasy at all. This could easily become my go-to everyday product.

The final piece of my skincare puzzle was the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. This was a little bit heavier, as it’s an oil, so I’ll probably use this at bedtime from now on. But, I think it sealed all the good stuff in because baby I was glowinnnnng. My skin was iridescent and light and clear. And when my skin feels and looks good, I feel confident.

Anyway, as you can see my skin looks clear and smooth! I am definitely on the Drunk Elephant train, and I don’t plan on getting off soon!

What are your skincare routines? Let me know in the comments!
