Weekending in Waco
Road trips are fun!
Road trips are even more fun when they're with your best friend.
This weekend, I FINALLY had the chance to check out Magnolia Market in Waco, TX. C and I are big fans of Chip and Joanna Gaines, and their show, FIxer Upper. So, we loaded up the car early Saturday morning and hopped on down the 6 to good, ole Waco.
The drive went by quickly thanks to our fire playlist - 90's Smash Hits on Spotify (thank me later) and we were jamming. So much so, that we didn't realize when the gas light came on and we were literally in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately, we were only 3 miles away from a gas station. But, that could've been tragic!
We made it to Waco around 10:30AM, and found a parking spot with no trouble. We'd heard that it gets crowded quickly so the earlier you get there, the better. Y'all, it is just as beautiful as the pictures and the TV images. Seriously, everything about the Magnolia Market is aesthetically pleasing. It was crowded, but not overwhelming. C and I walked around the store with ease and were able to see all of the gorgeous home decor and fun knick-knacks.
We walked outside where there is PLENTY of outdoor seating, a play-turf area for kids and families, and foodtrucks galore. Seriously, it's such a well-thought out space. I loved seeing the Silos too - you can't miss them, and it just gives the whole thing, that country, cozy, downhome feel.
C and I explored some more parts of Waco - Spice Village, The Findery, etc. before we hit the road to head to College Station to visit our sorority sister, Merdi.
Merdi took us to a popular spot on Northgate for dinner: Blackwater Draw Brewing Co. We ordered the Nemo Nachos (apparently what they're known for)...and for real, they were one of the BEST things I have ever tasted in life. They were so good that we ordered 2 rounds :)
After dinner, she took us by the Alpha Chi Omega house. Even though we're not alums of Texas A&M, I love being able to share the same sisterhood and ritual across the nation. Plus, hanging out with Merdi means nonstop laughing. I got an ab workout in those few short hours.
Saturday was such a fun day that left my heart feeling full. Have you ever had days like those? Where you're surrounded by love, laughter, and appreciation for everything going on in your life.
It's funny how a simple road trip can do that.
