Top 5 | June Picks
Everyone loves samples, right?
I certainly do. Let's get real, that's really why I have a Costco membership. Those weekend samples are EVERYTHING. I love trying out new beauty product samples even more - hello Birchbox, Ipsy, Julep! There are so many great - and not so great - items on the market, that it can definitely be overwhelming trying to navigate through the world of beauty. Every month, I'll give you my top five, no debating (Drake, anyone?) products that I'm interested in, obsessing over, and just can't live without.
Because life's too short to live on your own [beauty] mistakes, right?
1. Urban Decay, All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray, $14 - 1 oz | $30 - 4 oz
This stuff is AMAZING. There is nothing worse than achieving the most epic contour of all time, simply to sweat it off an hour after you step outside. Amirite? Yeah, I'm talking to you sweet, humid, city smog. Well, the humidity in Houston can be absolutely ridiculous, and this product works wonders. From the morning when I apply it, to the end of a long work-day, my face looks matte and shine-free.
2. Elma and Sana, Moroccan Ghassoul Clay Powder, $13.00
I am not typically a huge fan of masks, but this one is my favorite. It's a skin detox that manages to pull out tons of the gunk that's been stuck in your pores. Because it's a clay powder, it's a lot thicker than what you would typically expect in a face mask, but personally I think that's why it works so well. I personally recommend purchasing the Pure Moroccan Rose Water with it, which smells incredible and serves as a toner.
*Winner* That's what your face will feel like once you've used this cleanser. I received a sample size as the birthday option for Sephora Beauty Insiders, And, I feel like Sephora was truly giving me a gift. #Blessings It is a gentle cleanser that removes ALL the makeup, oil, and junk from the day. You can cover your entire face with it, without worrying about it stinging your eyes. I can't get enough of this stuff...I've ordered the full size + the travel size. Boom.
4. MAC Cosmetics, Velvet Teddy Matte Lipstick, $17
My go-to lipstick color. This color works so well - it's a rose-colored beige that adds the perfect amount of tint. It works well with low-key makeup, or a fabulous glam look. The great thing about MAC lipsticks is that they usually have a couple different lip liners that you can use with each of their lipsticks. I currently use 'Soar' with it, to give it even more color, and to make my lips just a teeny bit fuller. Because everyone deserves a perfect pout. Holla at me, Kylie!
5. Sonia Kashuk®, Pink Innocencia Hand Créme, $7
What a light, feminine, and luxurious scent! My best friend, C, uses this religiously. She has had a never-ending supply of this fantastic hand creme that she found in Utopia (aka Target). It is a thick cream - it doesn't feel like regular lotion, but it isn't too oily either. It absorbs well into your skin, and it has a fantastic smell - as if you should be laying on a chaise overlooking the French Riviera, instead of staring at an office computer. It's the perfect size for your purse, and the perfect price for you wallet.
